Why I Became A Photographer

I often get asked, “Why did you become a photographer Tania?” I have always had a love for beautiful photographs. I would often assist photographers while on set, either holding a reflector or adjusting makeup or hair. I am also a hair and makeup artist, and would work with photographers regularly. Over time, I developed a passion for creating images. I was wanting a camera for a while and mentioned it to my husband, time passed and one Christmas I got that beautiful Camera! I was super excited. Being connected in the industry I already knew a lot of model’s and started booking photo shoots to learn the ins and outs about lighting etc. I absolutely fell in love with natural light photography. I started to take a big interest in Portrait photography and found a mentor named Sue Bryce. I joined her education site and learned everything about portrait photography, lightening and everything else. The next natural progression for me was the move towards wedding photography. Being a hair and makeup artist, I had been working with brides for about 15 years already. I had a passion for the wedding industry long ago. That passion continues on in the way of photography. My focus now and going forward is Photography. I love the entire process of my client prep, the dress, hair and makeup and then posing. I am a portrait photographer at heart, I love capturing a person or couples true essence with my lens. I enjoy telling a story for my wedding clients. Their story is so unique to them. I like to get to know my clients and I love detailing their special moments.
